The International Conference Congregation of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri: Art & Culture will take place in Lisbon, on 21-23 October 2021. Free participation in the conference will be available to all people interested in Oratorian art and culture. However, previous registration is desirable for the presential participation in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation; the registration can be made through the email [email protected].

CALL FOR PAPERS
The ARTIS – Institute of Art History, School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon is pleased to invite all researchers to participate in the International Conference Congregation of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri: Art & Culture, which will take place in Lisbon, in 21-23 October 2021.
Themes to be discussed in the conference are on the art and culture (architecture, painting, sculpture, music, etc.) of the Oratorians of St. Philip Neri, through all periods and geographical areas.
The Call for Papers is open from 15 January to 15 May 2020. Researchers should send their paper proposals (title + 300 words + a brief biographical sketch of 100 words + author contacts) to [email protected].
Proposals will be selected by the Scientific Committee on the basis of merit and the need to organize a well-balanced programme, according to the following criteria: relevance, innovation, scientific quality and organisation of the session. On 20 May 2020 authors will be notified regarding acceptance of their papers.
Invitation letters will be sent only if requested by authors and only after their registration.

GUIDELINES
General
Papers should be unpublished and should denote a high command of primary and secondary research sources (academic literature, archives and field sources), in order to produce a rigorous, innovative and concise essay.
Language
The working language is English.
File Format
All texts must be submitted as a Word document (*.doc / *.docx). Texts must contain the images in their places (after the paragraph were it is referred to), together with their captions and sources between brackets and in italic (see more information below). All images must be also sent as individual JPEG files. The image size required is 300 dpi minimum.
Filenames:
Text – initials of the first name followed by underscore and surname after (e.g., F_Surname.doc).
Images – initials of the first name followed by underscore and surname after, followed again by the number of the image (e.g., F_Surname_00.jpg).
Text size
The text should not exceed 50.000 characters, including footnotes, bibliographical references and image captions. A maximum of 10 images (photos, illustrations and tables) are accepted.
Deadline
Papers should be sent to the email [email protected] until 10 October 2021.
Due to the strict nature of the blind peer-review process, it is essential that you remove any information that would identify the author, both from the text and notes.
Author’s Agreement and Permissions
The author’s agreement to publish is implicit when sending its paper, which must be unpublished; the author is also responsible for the permissions to publish all sources (images, tables, etc.), and must obtain permission to reproduce images when necessary and pay copyright fees and other costs. The organisation will not be responsible for the publication of non-authorised sources.
